The Deputy Director of Voter Services supervises, administers and organizes the activities of the voter services department.
- Essential Duties
-
- Supervise the operations and activities of the department in conformance with the election laws and regulations.
- Direct the activities of Voter Services staff, ensure that individuals complete duties and responsibilities efficiently and effectively; handle any issues that may arise including motivating employees, employee evaluation(s), and employee issues/concerns including disciplinary actions.
- Supervises temporary election workers and provides training regarding election procedures and the operation of (electronic) election equipment.
- Perform a wide variety of administrative support services as assigned by the Director.
- Assist in directing and organizing the holding of elections, maintaining integrity in the election process and ensuring that all mandated deadlines be met.
- Assist in directing and organizing the preparation and printing of specimen, absentee/mail-in and official ballots.
- Prepare instruction manuals and conduct classes.
- Assist in preparation of accurate voter registration lists from official registration records, official statements of voters, statistical listings and other data.
- Assist in managing on going voter registration tasks.
- Assist in departmental budget requests and ensure expenditures are within budgetary constraints.
- Train new employees on use of statewide voter registration system.
- Oversee the maintenance and updating of computer system operations.
- Prepare reports for internal use and for external requests when appropriate.
- Attend meetings and provide information verbally and written to voters, candidates, public officials and the press.
- Determine department information needs and develop and maintain a plan to ensure access to the appropriate information.
- Identify information storage needs and develop a process for routine archiving.
- Perform other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.

Qualifications / Requirements:
· Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Knowledge of Pennsylvania and Federal election and voter registration laws or ability to learn same
· Office management experience.
· Strong budget management skills.
